What’s actually confirmed

The collaboration itself has been official since Warhammer Skulls back in May, when Arrowhead and Games Workshop confirmed they were working together on a Legendary Warbond — the same premium format as the game’s Halo: ODST crossover. What July 30 adds is the full contents: every weapon, armor set, and cosmetic in the drop. The teasers so far have shown silhouettes that the community has read as bolt weapons and a chainsword — the 40K arsenal that maps almost suspiciously well onto Helldivers 2’s fascist-space-democracy satire.

Why it matters

Helldivers 2’s crossovers have become events in themselves — the ODST Warbond briefly pushed the game back up the concurrent-player charts — and Warhammer 40,000 is the most requested collaboration the community has ever floated, to the point that half of Helldivers 2’s own player base already talks in 40K memes.
