Halo: Campaign Evolved launches July 28, 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PlayStation 5 — the first time a mainline Halo campaign has ever come to a PlayStation console. Premium and Collector’s Edition buyers get early access starting July 23.
A rebuilt Combat Evolved, not a straight remaster
Built in Unreal Engine 5, Campaign Evolved isn’t just Combat Evolved with a graphics bump — Halo Studios has redesigned and added missions, and pulled in mechanics, weapons, and narrative beats from later Halo games to fold them back into the original 2001 campaign. Visuals are fully upgraded to match.

Co-op is back, competitive multiplayer isn’t
The original’s competitive multiplayer isn’t included here. What is included: two-player split-screen on consoles, and online co-op for up to four players across console and PC, with cross-platform play and shared progression throughout.
Editions and pricing
Three editions: Standard ($49.99), Premium ($69.99 — adds the Alpha Halo Armory Pack, an Art of Halo digital artbook, the Hungry Buzzards digital short story, and a digital game manual), and a Collector’s Edition ($199.99, already sold out as of June 8) with a 12-inch Master Chief statue, a light-up Cortana chip, a SteelBook case, three concept art prints, a physical manual, and a physical disc for console versions.
Every edition includes the Foundry Armory Pack as a pre-order bonus. The physical Collector’s Edition and Digital Premium Edition also unlock up to five days of early access starting July 23.
The game is available from launch on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, with a move to the lower Standard and Premium tiers expected within a year of release.
Why it matters
A mainline Halo campaign landing on PlayStation for the first time is a big enough deal on its own — pair that with a genuinely reworked campaign (not just a resolution bump) and four-player cross-platform co-op, and this is shaping up to be one of the bigger console crossover moments of the year.
